The Thirteenth Moor Pool Heritage Festival
The thirteenth Moor Pool Heritage Festival was held on Sunday September 11th 2022. It was, however, a subdued affair following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II just a few days before on September 8th. While there was some doubt that it would proceed, feedback from the community strongly indicated that people wanted to come together but in a respectful way. As a result some activities were amended to strike a more sombre and respectful note, whilst still providing some children's activities in particular and the heritage aspect.

The Seventh Moor Pool Heritage Festival
The seventh Moor Pool Heritage Festival was held on Sunday September 13th 2015. A bright sunny day saw an excellent turnout and a single circuit of 20p around the circle was (just) completed. Attractions included the Sovereign Brass Band, Roger Brown’s infamous barbecue, Trish & Igor’s heritage walk, Irish Dancers, Classmates Barbershop singers and Sedgley Morris Men. There was also a bouncy castle, stalls, tea and home made cakes, face painting and toddler's tennis.
A message from the Chair
To EVERYONE (and there are just too many to mention by name) who helped make the day such a spectacle and success THANK YOU! From the volunteers who helped organise, set up, run and tidy up, to everyone who came along - YOU all created another memorable Moor Pool event reflecting the pride and spirit that makes our community special and unique.
We had a number of fantastic entries for our inaugural children’s competition. Well done to Agnes and Thora Thomson for their beautiful paintings, and to Theo Mauser, Andrianna Pavlyshyn, Thora Thomson and Oscar Fellows-Atkinson - your gardens in a shoebox were ‘all brilliant’! And to our scarecrow makers across the estate what a creative display of talent - Humpty Dumpty (Park Edge); Ozzie Osbourne (Carless Avenue); The Tiger Who Came To Tea (The Square), Bing and Goldilocks and The Three Bears (The Spinney); Room On A Broom , Burglar Bill , Alice In Wonderland, The Dingly Dangly Scarecrow (all on Moor Pool Avenue), Charlottes Web (North Gate), Dorothy and her friends (corner of Ravenhurst Road and Moor Pool Avenue), and, a witch surrounded by the tallest sunflowers (Ravenhurst Road). What a fantastic collection: we were unable to choose an outright winner…….primarily because with all the other organising that needed to be done I was unable to find an ‘independent’ judge who hadn’t been involved in some of the creations! I even tried to run a poll on social media but had limited take up. So in the spirit of fair play we have awarded every entry a certificate of thanks. Next year I promise to be more organised on the scarecrow front!
Whilst the main focus of this year’s festival was celebrating and enjoying the spirit of Moor Pool, I am also delighted to share that through the joint endeavours of MRA and MPHT we raised a grand total of £3292.50. This included a superb £1802.15 from the 20p’s round The Circle challenge. All of which will benefit our community.

The Sixth Moor Pool Heritage Festival
The sixth Moor Pool Heritage Festival was held on Sunday September 14th 2014, opening at 11am and running until 5pm. A wide variety of activities took place in and around the Hall.

The Fifth Moor Pool Festival
The fifth Moor Pool Festival was held on Sunday September 15th 2013.
Marrow contest: The final weight of the whopping marrow on the Allotment Association stand was 5.72Kg. The winner was Faith Protte with 5.68 Kg. (There were two others who had 5.80 Kg).

The Fourth Moor Pool Festival
The 2012 Festival took place on Sunday 9th September. Focussed on the Moor Pool Hall the Festival showcased Moor Pool's many Clubs and Societies.
Stalls included allotment produce, displays of Chad Valley toys, the Moor Pool Heritage Trust, Moorpool Players. Have a go on the unique wooden skittle alley or try your hand at air rifle shooting in the lower hall. There were also be cakes and refreshments, face painting and fun and games for the children.
Classic cars were a feature at the front of the Hall as was a model railway layout by Transport Diorama

The Third Moor Pool Festival
Following previous years success, the third Moor Pool Festival was held on Sunday 11th September.

The Second Moor Pool Festival
Following last years success, the second Moor Pool Festival was held on Sunday 12th September 2010.
The MRA offered Edwardian teas, there was face painting, and the various Clubs on Moor Pool had tables and information on their activities. There was also the chance to visit the clubs which are an inherent part of our community. The skittle alley, bowling green, snooker room, Moor Pool and tennis club were all open and residents could watch or 'have a go'. There was a history talk and guided tours of the estate. The Moor Pool in Bloom team displayed plans for the coming year and inviting suggestions from residents

The First Moor Pool Festival
This years main Centenary event was the first Moor Pool Festival held on Sunday 13th September 2009. The MRA offered Edwardian teas, there was face painting, and the various Clubs on Moor Pool had tables and information on their activities. There was also the chance to visit the clubs which are an inherent part of our community. The skittle alley, bowling green, snooker room, Moor Pool and tennis club were all open and residents could watch or 'have a go'. There was a history talk and guided tours of the estate. Mike Frost stepped in at the last minute to entertain in the absance of the dance academy, and the real ice cream was unfortunately unavailable due to a fire in the shop. Despite these small hiccups, the event was very well attanded and everyone seems to enjoy the day.
