Moor Pool Food Fesitval and 20p Challenge

Sunday, July 13th, 2014

The first Moor Pool Food Festival took place on Sunday, July 13th 2014, with stalls of home produce, cakes, plants, books and Heritage Trust branded items offered for sale. Teas were available and a very popular barbeque had a seemingly permanent queue. The event was very well supported by both residents and those from further afield

This was combined with the challenge of creating a line of 20p pieces around the circle, which was quickly completed with coins donated by those attending, who then went on to create a second line, which was also eventually complete after searching through loose change for the final couple of feet.

The 20p coins are still being counted, but a wheelbarrow was needed to transport them and it is thought they will add up to something in the region of £4,000 to help secure the circle and other areas for future generations.
