The re-enactment of the first sod cutting ceremony
by the Moorpool Players
The Centenary Celebrations began on Sunday October 28th 2007 at the Moorpool Hall, with dancing by local children from Harborne Primary School, followed by a re-enactment of the first sod cutting ceremony by the Moorpool Players. This was followed by a speech by the Lord Mayor and the unveiling of a centenary painting. Then tea and a firework display on the Tennis Courts. These replaced the planned lantern release as the weather was unsuitable.
